Let's learn about decolonization and liberation.
My approach to decolonization is based in CREATIVE LIBERATION PRACTICES.
An embodied, creative, intersectional approach to care, informed by the land we are on.
DECOLONIZATION is the resistance to, and the act of, abolishing systems that uphold colonization.
COLONIZATION is the control over land and people in order to exploit them for profit.
LIBERATION is the freeing of ourselves, others and the environment from colonization by imagining, creating and embodying futures built on care.
EMBODIED is a relationship with our bodies. Our bodies hold knowledge in every cell and in our nervous system. Deepening our relationship with it helps us resist and create.
LAND includes the land we are on, the land(s) we are from and the cosmos. Every cell and atom in this system carries knowledge that can inform our relationships and influence our creativity. We turn to it as a teacher.
INTERSECTIONALITY is how we see ourselves and others in this society and it informs our responsibilities in our care based practice.
